As a member of Highdown Rotary, it was great to be involved with Worthing Rotary Carnival. (Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday)
It was fantastic to see the local community gather in force at the Steyne for two days of live music of all varieties from bands and performer from the local area.
There was also a range of stalls, circus activities, and a dog show and the major event the Rotary Showcase where we were able to promote Rotary to the general Public.
Monday we had the main carnival procession with many highly decorated floats, energetic dancers and walking groups, and enthusiastic bands.
We also had a visit from the Mayor Hazel Thorpe and Amy Hart from Love Island.
Highdown Rotarian Gerald Ilsley said:
“We are delighted with the success of the Rotary Carnival this year and would like to thank all those who have come to join in the activities and all the Rotarians who have worked beyond the call of duty in planning the event and working on the day.
Thanks also for all the support of our sponsors and partners who have helped create such a glorious event and all those who have donated so generously to our Rotary charities.”
On a personal note can I echo Gerald Comment, Well done to all involved and a massive thank you to the Rotarian that arranged the event, a fine example of FUN Fellowship and “Rotary in Action” plus a big thank you to the weather it was glorious
Finally well done to all the participants in the Parade and Congratulations to the Carnival Parade Winners
